Dear ASU Volleyball Parents:

Greetings from the ASU Volleyball Program!  I hope that you are enjoying your summer.  As August approaches, we are very excited about this upcoming season.  With six of seven starters returning and a solid group of newcomers, the future is bright for ASU.  Last season, we took another step closer to our goal of making an NCAA tournament.  As your daughter is well aware, it has been since 1992 that ASU has earned a birth to compete for a National Championship.  We are long overdue and ready to make that happen.

                The success of a program comes from more than just talent and hard work.   It depends on the support of not only the school itself, but also that of the players’ parents and program alumni.    That kind of support can come in many forms including attending matches, preparing pre or post-game meals for the team when they are on the road in your area, offering the team a place to stay on road trips and making financial donations.  All of these things not only make your daughter’s experience at ASU better, but they make others want to be a part of it.  We were truly blessed in 2010 by your support.  With nearly a 100% participation rate in our Parent Support Team and several OUTSTANDING home cooked meals and snack bags, it made life on the road (and at home) much more comfortable.

                We are once again reaching out to you and our alumni to ask for support in our upcoming season.  By joining our Parent Support Team, you are helping to ensure that the building blocks to a successful season are firmly in place.  Our basic membership plan will allow you to receive two ASU Volleyball T-shirts, a 2011 ASU Volleyball Media Guide, a subscription to our electronic volleyball newsletter, and FREE access to all of our home volleyball webcasts if you cannot attend in person.

                We also have a way to put your name on one of our matches.  Our match sponsor plan will allow you to receive all the benefits of our basic membership, plus the ability to be the match sponsor for one of our 12 home matches.  Your name will be listed as our match sponsor in that night’s game program and you will receive an engraved plaque to honor you as our match sponsor for that contest.  Because our tournament sponsor, Dr. Coleman Driver, has sold his practice and moved to San Antonio, the match sponsor opportunity has become even more important.  Please consider it.

                Your donation will help us in a number of ways.  It allows us to travel a little more comfortably, upgrade our equipment, augment our recruiting and scholarship budgets and play the teams that will help us compete for conference, regional and national championships.  I invite you to consider joining our Parent Support Team for 2011.  It is an opportunity to support both your daughter and something that is extremely important to her.  I look forward to a great year!!
